A vintage knitting pattern from circa 1940s for small boys Buster Suits, with knitting instructions to make them using a 3 ply yarn.
Two different suits to make, the main photo is to fit 22" width at underarm and the shorts have a front seam of 9", with a back seam of 10".
The second suit, which is the top illustration is to fit 24" width at underarm and the shorts with a front seam of 9" and a back seam of 10".
They were originally made using Bairnswear lambs wool 3 ply, working to a tension of 7 sts to 1".
You could try a 4 ply yarn, but work a tension square first, changing your needles if necessary to achieve the correct tension.
The leaflet is from circa 1940s, it has creasing, some worn edges, small nicks and browning of the pages, but its otherwise clean of any knitters markings and its fully intact.
A lovely nostalgic collectors item.
